What’s Your Story?
The Cincinnati Bar Association, with the generous support
of the Cincinnati Bar Foundation, is embarking on a
journey this year to capture the stories of its members.
These stories will educate, ponder, amuse and inspire. We
will share them with one another and with the community
— both in published form and online at
.
org. They will capture our history, as we near the 140th
anniversary of the Bar, and inform our future.
Please join us in
Telling the Story
. To participate,
here’s all you have to do:
• Decide how you want to tell your story. Do
you want to use the CBA-provided cues to help
organize your thoughts? (Available below and
online at
We recommend
you bring along a colleague, a family member
or a friend to ask the questions and help record
it more like a conversation.
• Contact CBA Communications Director Julie
Kemble Borths at
or
(513) 699-1391 to set up an appointment (each
time block is 30 minutes).
• At the Bar, you will be provided with a printed
copy of the cues and an easy-to-use digital
recorder to capture your stories. You will also
have a photo taken of you to accompany your
story and you will need to sign a release for the
Bar to use your words and image.
After you complete your storytelling session, the
CBA Communications Department will archive and
catalogue the recording, preserving it for the future.
The CBA is developing ways to share the recordings
online and will also use text from the storytelling
sessions online and in printed materials.
The CBA will provide each storyteller with a CD
copy of the session and their photo.
