Join us to learn or refresh your knowledge of the ABC’s of financial reporting for
nonprofit corporations. From tracking budgets and cash flow to an understanding
of the 990 filings, Brian Todd, CPA, from Clark Schaefer Hackett will provide use-
ful and practical tools that we need to fully exercise our fiduciary responsibility as
board members or enhance the quality of our representation of nonprofit clients. Ron
Christian, Chair of the nonprofit and tax-exempt organization practice group at Taft
Stettinus and Hollister LLP, will provide the legal and ethical framework that explains
why lawyers need to have a working knowledge of nonprofit financial management.
The Nonprofit Law Committee will complement this important CLE with the op-
portunity to visit one of our community’s highly regarded nonprofits, the Freestore
Foodbank. The CLE will be hosted at the new Freestore Foodbank at 1141 Central
Parkway, just south of WCET. Following the CLE session, we hope that you will stay
for a brief tour of the unique Cincinnati COOKS! program, an innovative social entre-
preneurship initiative which operates a catering business that trains the unemployed
and generates financial support for the Freestore Foodbank Kids Cafe.
