Time is of the essence
Most social media experts agree,
time is of the essence. Schmidt argues
there is a sense of urgency in convincing
attorneys that now is the time to plan
and to implement a social media
marketing strategy. I have written this
before and I will write it again—ready
or not, the social media revolution,
including blogs, Twitter and like services,
has reached the legal profession. In
order to thrive, practitioners will need
to consider innovative ways to use social
media to nurture their online personas.
Blawgs that get it right
I am leaving readers with five
noteworthy legal blogs. I hope they will
motivate legal professionals to think
about the many ways they can use blogs
to put together a compelling social media
presence.
ABA Journal Blawg Directory
(
) is
comprehensive directory of con-
tinually updated law blogs, including
topics from bankruptcy law and jury
verdict to ZombieLaw, according to
the website.
The Briefcase: Commentary and
Analysis of Ohio Law
(briefcase8.com) deconstructs Ohio
Supreme Court and Federal cases,
while providing links to Ohio courts
and other Ohio blawgs.
The Cincinnati Bar Association Blog
(
/
blog/) provides attorney referrals and
answers to common legal questions,
including accidents, bankruptcy,
wills and trusts and more.
Hamilton County Law Library Blog
(
/
blog/default.asp), updated regularly
by Charles Kallendorf, reports on
court cases and news stories that
affect attorneys and residents of
Hamilton county and the tri-state
area.

Inter-Alia
(
) is
on Bridges go-to legal research blog
list. She finds the “Blawg of the Day”
section particularly useful which
features a new legal blog daily.
Herald, a tenacious researcher and dedicated Women’s
Crisis Center volunteer, continues to be fascinated
by the advent of social media and the various ways
it changes, yet maintains, the status quo. She earned
her Master of Science in Library Science from the
University of Kentucky and has had the privilege
of working with academic, private and public law
libraries in the Cincinnati area.
