Aine Baldwin
Chair of:
Real Property Law Committee
Firm:
Graydon Head & Ritchey LLP
Practice Area:
Commercial Real Estate
Law School:
University of Cincinnati College of Law
What kind of issues do you find most interesting in your practice committee?
Issues
from economic development incentives to CAGIS (Cincinnati Area Geographical
Information System) to foreclosure have all led to engaging conversations addressing
best practices, tools, and new legislation in our practice committee.
What would your practice committee want other attorneys to understand about
your specialty?
Real property law touches so many topics of interest to our clients and
our community ranging from fracking to revitalizing our city’s urban core. The result
is a wealth of opportunity for the real property law practitioner to collaborate with our
colleagues in other practice areas.
How has being a part of your committee made a difference in your own practice?
Our committee members come from both the litigation and transactional disciplines
and represent clients from publicly traded financial institutions to residential property
owners. Exposure to their diverse perspectives has been invaluable to my own client
representation.
What is the most important project for your practice committee this year?
Our
committee officers and members work together each year to identify timely and
engaging topics and speakers for the December Real Property Law Institute.
The movie or book that I always recommend is…
Lost Horizon
by James Hilton. It is a
wonderful story about the mythical Shangri-La, a generation lost to WWI and human
nature.
My favorite place to go in Cincinnati is…
Findlay Market, because it is such a vibrant
atmosphere yet still connected to Cincinnati as it was more than 160 years ago.
