  • Maintain Salesforce database to generate documentation packages in compliance with all terms of the financing request
  • Review and edit drafted documents from Salesforce for accuracy
  • Assist in UCC filings and Lien Searches.  Generate required Subordination Letters when necessary
  • Assist in determining closing date expectations & compiling items needed for closing.  Advise of any obstacles that may impede meeting client expectations
  • Analyze and organize information from Salesforce to produce management reports to measure daily, weekly, monthly & yearly production goals
  • Maintain client files

 Job Overview:

The Legal Help Center Staff Attorney, a joint venture of the University of Cincinnati College of Law and the Hamilton County Clerk of Courts, will provide legal assistance to self-represented litigants in connection with civil cases before Municipal courts, including, but not limited to, small claims matters, landlord/tenant, evictions, sealing of records, and creditor/debtor issues. The Staff Attorney will manage all aspects of the center, including managing law student interns, managing attorney volunteers, preparing self-help materials as needed, overseeing the center budget, leading community outreach and education initiatives, and monitoring center usage.  The position will report to the Extern Coordinator at the UC College of Law and will also work with the Chief of Municipal Court in the Clerk of Courts office.

Essential Responsibilities:

§     Manage all aspects of the Help Center, including the staffing, the materials provided, the customer service, the community outreach, and the budget.

§     Oversee law students from the University of Cincinnati who are externing in the Help Center by providing them with training, counseling, and oversight as they work with clients in the Help Center.

§     Oversee local attorneys from the Cincinnati area who are volunteering in the Help Center by providing them with training, counseling, and oversight as they work with clients in the Help Center.

§     Recruit law students and local attorney volunteers to staff the Help Center as needed.

§     Prepare self-help materials for clients that explain both substantive areas of the law (e.g., landlord-tenant, expungement) and process (e.g., navigating municipal court).

§     Work with clients on a one-on-one basis to provide limited representation and answer questions with respect to certain legal matters before Hamilton County courts.

§     Manage the day-to-day logistics and operation of the Help Center, including the in-take process, the physical center space, the materials needed for the office, and other logistical issues as needed.

§     Develop a system for documenting the number of clients, common questions received, satisfaction surveys, and other metrics associated with the clinic.

§     Manage the budget for the Help Center and keep financial records as needed in coordination with the CFO of the Hamilton County Clerk of Courts.

§     Create promotional materials about the Help Center, conduct outreach in the community advertising the center and its services, and represent the center in the media as needed.

§     Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.

§     Other duties as assigned.
