Appellate Practice

The purpose of the Appellate Practice Committee is to promote the CBA within the field of appellate law. To that end, it provides an educational and diverse forum in which to discuss current appellate issues, interact with local appellate attorneys and judges, provide services to its members in the form of CLEs and, when appropriate, be the voice of the local appellate bar.

A Message from the Chair

Richard A. Magnus

“Each quarterly meeting of the Committee include updates on the appellate rules or important cases.  The Committee also enjoy strong support from the First District Court of Appeals, and frequently have appellate judges as speakers.  Our meetings will include guest speakers, in-meeting CLE, or just an informal discussion about current issues.  We also publish a Practitioners Handbook that is an invaluable tool for any lawyer that practices in the First District.”
