A Message from the Chair

Karen A. Rolcik

Thank you to everyone who attended the 32nd Annual Advanced Estate Planning Institute on Friday, February 27, 2015.  We would also like to thank our wonderful speakers for sharing their insights with us.  Thank you for making this year’s Institute so successful.

Please join us on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at noon to hear Janet Milne from the Greater Cincinnati Alzheimer’s Association present “Alzheimer’s Disease:  Working with Clients with Diminished Capacity.”  I have heard Janet’s presentation in the past and it presents many useful, practical insights into working with our aging clients.

On April 28, 2015, Catherine Evans from the Millikin & Fitton Law Firm will present “Succession Planning – Tips and Tricks.”  Once again, I have had the opportunity to hear Catherine’s presentation and I think you will find it very informative.”

Welcome to the Estate Planning and Probate Committee. The Committee is dedicated to providing continuing education to its members in an atmosphere that promotes collegial exchanges of insights based on our collective experience. In this regard, we have monthly meetings at which a speaker or panel presents on a topic, with time reserved for your questions and input. These meetings are typically held at noon at the CBA offices and last one hour. At times, however, they are held offsite in the late afternoon. These are meant to promote collegiality. In addition, the Committee organizes an annual basic planning institute and an advanced planning institute. These have proved to be very valuable to our members. I welcome your input on all of these projects of the Committee.
