A Message from the Chair

Loretta Marie Helfrich

“This Committee meets on the first Wednesday of each month.  It is unique among the various CBA committees, in that members are asked to commit to attend one to two meetings a year.  At the monthly meeting usually the Chair and two to four members grade notary exams taken by Hamilton County residents who have applied to become a Notary Public.  This is an excellent way to give back to your community.  The Committee is also responsible for handling actions to remove a person as a Notary.  I have been active with this committee since 2005 and have been chair for most of that time.   During that time we have revised the examination format, worked on solidifying the procedure for removing a notary from office and offered an informative seminar several years.   The small gathering and the nature of the meeting provides an excellent way to become more acquainted with your fellow bar members.  We are always looking for new members and would welcome your participation.”
