LGBT Interests Committee

Purpose

The LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) Interests Committee has a dual-fold purpose.  First, the committee will work to strengthen our profession by creating an environment where LGBT legal professionals can grow and succeed to their full potential.  Second, the committee will work to strengthen our community by improving access to high quality legal services tailored to the unique needs of LGBT individuals and families.  The committee will achieve these aims through a combination of educational programming, community engagement, and network development.

A Message from the Chair

Joshua O. Stevens

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the LGBT Interests Committee.  Our activities are guided by our Purpose stated above.  Our quarterly meetings provide the opportunity to network, exchange ideas, and learn about emerging (and sometimes existing) issues in the law related to LGBT concerns.  We will host a networking event in the fall, and provide an engaging CLE in the spring.  Additionally, we will participate in community service events as opportunities arise.  As a new committee, there are plentiful opportunities for you to become involved.  You could attend a meeting, plan an event, or anything in between.  Please take a look through our page, and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
