In Remembrance of Judge William A. McClain

The Cincinnati Bar Association would like to express its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Judge William A. McClain, who passed away Tuesday, February 4 at the age of 101. McClain was the first African-American member of the Cincinnati Bar Association.

“As the first African-American member of the Cincinnati Bar Association, Judge McClain was a true pioneer. His legacy reminds our organization of the duty we have to maintain a diverse and inclusive membership. We are all truly saddened by his passing,” said Jean Geoppinger McCoy, president of the Cincinnati Bar Association.
