Behind the Gavel: Meet the Common Pleas Judicial Candidates

On the evening of Monday, September 22, the League of Women Voters of the Cincinnati Area (LWVCA) and the Cincinnati Bar Association will be sponsoring a program to inform the voting public on the functions of the Common Pleas court and provide an opportunity to meet and hear from candidates for judge on the ballot in November. Each candidate for the office of judge is invited to meet the public and have a two-minute opportunity to speak on his or her candidacy for the office. LWVCA will also provide information to the public on evaluating judicial candidates and the Court of Common Pleas administration will discuss the function of the court. LWVCA and the Cincinnati Bar Association work to educate voters in Hamilton County. In November 2012, 40% of Ohioans who cast a ballot skipped voting in judicial races mainly because they lacked information about the judiciary and judicial candidates. We hope you will take the opportunity to help us encourage voters to learn about this important office by attending our event. Behind the Gavel: Meet the Common Pleas Judicial Candidates Monday, September 22 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Cincinnati Bar Association Fifth Floor Conference Center 225 E. Sixth Street Cincinnati, OH 45202 Please RSVP your attendance to: League of Women Voters of the Cincinnati Area – (513) 281-8683 or becky@lwvcincinnati.org
