The CBA Seeks Next ABA Delegate

The Cincinnati Bar Association will be appointing a member to be our representative to the American Bar Association House of Delegates.  This appointment will take place in June and the delegate will start serving a two-year term immediately after the August, 2016 ABA annual meeting.  The individual appointed must be a member of the ABA and should have some familiarity with the ABA and its method of operation.  The delegate should also be an individual who has been a member of the CBA for enough time to be very familiar with the CBA and its activities.  If not significantly active with the CBA, the individual should demonstrate a commitment to the organized bar beyond the CBA, including, but not limited to, the Ohio State Bar Association, American Trial Lawyers Association, National Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, or other similar associations.

Duties include attendance at the ABA annual meeting (generally held in August) and the ABA mid-year meeting (generally held in February).  The individual chosen will also serve on the Board of Trustees of the Cincinnati Bar Association and will be expected to attend monthly meetings of that Board.  This appointment is for a two-year term and can be extended up to an additional four more two-year terms.  The expenses of the ABA Delegate are reimbursed by the CBA.  The incumbent delegate is eligible to be re-nominated.
