Call to Join the Cincinnati Bar Association's Diversity and Inclusion Committee

Dear Valued Members:

We are excited to announce the formation of the Cincinnati Bar Association’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. With the guidance from this new board-appointed committee and the support of our membership, the CBA is committed to deepening its understanding of and taking action toward what it means to be a truly inclusive Bar Association that embraces and promotes diverse members of the legal community without limitation to race, color, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, nationality, age, disability, marital or parental status and socio economic background. We believe it is good not only for the profession and for our community as a whole, but it is crucial for enhancing the public’s confidence in the judicial system and removing barriers to justice.

We believe there is a need for an independent, board-appointed Diversity and Inclusion Committee to consider the challenges and opportunities of diversity and inclusion in a holistic manner.

A diverse, active, and engaged Diversity and Inclusion Committee will set goals, implement programs and procedures, provide oversite and responsibility, and measure progress on diversity and inclusion initiatives.

We invite you to apply to be a part of this committee, or perhaps you know someone that would be a fit. If you are interested in joining the committee, please contact LaDonna Wallace Smith, Director of Community Service at lwsmith@cincybar.org or (513) 699-1392.

There is much to look forward to at the CBA. We appreciate your membership and continued support.

Sincerely,

Douglas R. Dennis                            John J. Williams
