He attended Baldwin-Wallace College (Berea, OH) for 3 years, where he met (the first night of college) and married Bonnie (Pelander) Mack. In early 1970, Tom joined the US Marine Corp interrupting his studies for 3 years. Tom achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant as air supply officer. Tom and Bonnie moved to Cincinnati where Tom finished his schooling at University of Cincinnati. He graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in 1976. He began working for Kenner Toys while he studied law at Salmon P. Chase Law School at night. He was inducted into the Order of the Curia and graduated second in his class in the spring of 1979. He practiced civil law for 27 years enjoying his courtroom trial days the most. Simultaneous to Tom’s schooling and work, Tom and Bonnie raised their three children: Chris, Carrie and Tim. Tom worked
hard maintaining a balance between his work and home life. He loved being a father and grandfather and was always very inten- tional in his support of them. He also believed in serving his Catholic Church and community giving much time and energy to parish council, education and recreation commission, SAY soccer, Boosters, etc. as well as coaching soccer and basketball for all of his children.
Tom’s faith was of life-long importance but grew much deeper after the loss of his brother and his own health challenges begin- ning in 2019. He loved attending daily mass and saying the Rosary with a rosary his granddaughter made.
