 Congratulations Judge Hopkins
Judge Jeffery P. Hopkins was confirmed to the federal bench to be a U.S. District Court judge for the Southern District of Ohio on Dec. 8. Hopkins fills the seat left by U.S. District Judge Timothy S. Black, who took senior status in May. Hopkins is a co-convener of the BLAC-CBA Round Table and has been a federal bankruptcy judge since 1996.
   Chief Justice O’Connor Retires
Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor of the Supreme Court of Ohio retired at the end of 2022, marking the end of 20 years on the high court. The tenth Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court, and the first woman to lead the state judicial branch of government, she is also the longest-serving statewide elected woman in Ohio history.
