RORY T. CLEAR 22 100-2%0 CLUB 1952 – 2022
Rory T. Clear, passed away suddenly
on May 30, 2022 at the age of 70 as the
result of a heart attack.
Rory was a 1970 Graduate of Saint
Xavier High School, received his BA
degree from the University of Cincinnati
in 1974 and his JD degree from the Northern Kentucky University
Chase College of Law in 1978. During his time as a law student
at Chase College of Law Rory served as the law clerk for the Hon.
Judge Rupert Doan of the Hamilton County, Ohio Common Pleas
Court.
Upon his admission to the Ohio Bar in 1978, he served as
an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney of Hamilton County, Ohio.
Subsequently he was appointed Magistrate of the Hamilton
County Court of Common Pleas where he served for several
years. On May 15, 2001 Rory established R.T.C. Title, LLC, a
successful boutique title insurance agency, which he owned and
managed until his retirement from there in 2017.
Rory’s greatest pleasure came from being surrounded by his
family and numerous, loyal friends with whom he always shared
his sound advice, quick wit, and his signature grin. He was kind
and caring toward fellow attorneys and his clients, customers and
employees and everyone he met. Rory was proud of his profes-
sion. He was one of the remaining few to always wear a suit and
tie because he believed that it was important for an attorney to
present a professional appearance.
Visitation was held on June 7, 2022, followed by a celebration
of his life with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Martin of Tours
church.
For 45 years Rory was the beloved husband of Susan (Eller-
horst) Clear , the loving father of two sons, Jim (Catherine) and
Tom and devoted grandfather of two, Nora and John Clear. He
was the supportive brother of sisters, Colleen (Dan) Aug, Mari-
anne (Richard) Frey, Sara (Mike) Hillgrove, and brothers, Kevin
Clear, and Joe (Karen) Clear. Rory was preceded in death by his
loving parents, Julie and James Clear, brother Jim, and sister
Mimi.
— Thomas S. Sperber, Esq.
