Community Spotlight
Alesha Schneider
Senior Manager & Senior Counsel, Global Labor and
Employment, The Procter & Gamble Company
When it comes to giving back, Alesha Schneider has found
a way to combine her passions for empowerment, education,
and fashion through her work with Dress for Success Cincin-
nati (DFSC). The organization’s mission, to empower women to
achieve economic independence through support, professional
attire, and development tools, resonates with Schneider. “While
the love for fashion may initially seem superficial, self-expres-
sion through clothing plays a vital role in our daily lives.” After helping her first client
find the perfect interview outfit, Schneider was moved by the client’s joy and newfound
empowerment. That moment, she said, “solidified my commitment to this organization
and its mission.”
One of the most rewarding parts of volunteering with DFSC is witnessing clients’
transformations as they move from interviews to new careers. Many women arrive at the
style studio nervous and uncertain but return later to build their first professional ward-
robes. The studio itself is designed to feel like a boutique, complete with music, backlit
mirrors, and private fitting rooms. “It’s an intimate, personalized shopping experience,”
Schneider explains, “where clients can discover their professional style and prepare for
the next chapter in their lives.”
For Schneider, community service is more than volunteer hours. It’s a way to
strengthen the bond between the legal community and the city it serves. “Lawyers have
a unique position in society as advocates and contributors to social change,” she says.
Beyond pro bono work, community engagement gives attorneys the chance to give back
and change public perceptions of the profession. “Contributing to causes like DFSC allows
me to broaden my perspective and help enhance the lives of others,” Schneider said. “It’s
a reminder that we all have the power to make a difference.”
