MEDIATOR/CONFERENCE ATTOR- NEY: THE FIRST DISTRICT COURT OF APPEALS. Pay Rate: Anticipated range of $90,000 – $100,000 depending on experience.
JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for development and administration of the court’s mediation program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSI- BILITIES OF THE POSITION: Under the direction and supervision of the Court Ad- ministrator, the mediator/conference attorney will be responsible for the development of and long-range strategic planning and implemen- tation of the court’s new mediation program and other duties related to early case evalua- tion. Issue scheduling orders and conduct oth- er initial case review. Review notices of appeal, the judgment from which the appeal is taken, and the docketing statement to determine whether a mediation should be scheduled. Es- tablish an appropriate mediation schedule
for cases chosen for mediation. Review case materials in preparation for mediation. Con- duct mediations. Conduct prehearing confer- ences where indicated by early case evaluation.
Perform other such duties assigned by the court administrator or the court.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, with 7-10 years civil practice experience preferred. Prior mediation experience strongly preferred. Must have prior mediation training or be will- ing to participate in the Ohio Supreme Court’s mediation training.
COURT EXPECTATIONS OF EMPLOYEE: In completing the duties and responsibilities of the position, the court expects the mediator/ conference attorney will adhere to all court policies, guidelines, practices and procedures; act as a role model both inside and outside the court; exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others; and work to maintain con- structive working relationships. In addition, the court expects the mediator/conference attorney to maintain a positive and respectful approach with superiors, colleagues, and indi- viduals inside and outside the court.

REAL ESTATE COUNSEL: THE PORT. Du- ties & Responsibilities: The Real Estate Counsel provides legal counsel, analysis, and research on a wide variety of complex legal matters
with a primary focus on real estate, including industrial and commercial transactions and agreements, compliance, legislative matters, and environmental issues. This position’s responsibilities are:
Provide legal counsel to The Port and its managed entities on industrial, commercial, residential, and mixed-use real estate transac- tions and related matters.
Support industrial and commercial teams in acquiring, disposing of, and managing real es- tate, including drafting and negotiating LOIs, purchase agreements, leases, easements, and other real estate documents.
Lead title and survey due diligence on indus- trial, commercial, and public project acquisi- tions, and support business leads in other due diligence as requested.
Develop post-closing compliance policies to ensure contractual development requirements are satisfied.
Support general counsel on a range of legal issues, including corporate governance, capital funding, public records, insurance, employ- ment matters, etc.
Contribute to creation of and compliance with new policies and procedures as needed.
Experience & Education: Current mem-
ber in good standing in the Ohio State Bar preferred. 5-10 years experience in real estate law, with significant transactional experi- ence. Working knowledge of state and federal law. Exposure to and/or familiarity with prop- erty/real estate finance structures. Creative, energetic, self-starter who can negotiate favor- able transactions with developers, individuals, communities, financial institutions, and gov- ernment partners. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Able to communicate effectively with a variety of contacts – public officials, outside attorneys, regulator boards/ agencies, etc. Experience working on matters of corporate governance. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects. A strong desire to promote job creation, homeownership, and equitable development throughout Hamilton County.
Other Prerequisites: Ability to tour The
Port’s project sites and attend out-of-office meetings. Satisfactory results on background investigations. Ability to perform all the essen- tial functions of the position outlined herein without creating a direct or indirect threat to the safety of oneself or others.

SENIOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ATTORNEY: CINCINNATI OFFICE OF THE CITY SOLICITOR. The Cincinnati Office of the City Solicitor is hiring a Senior Economic Development Attorney to serve as (i) primary legal counsel on complex financial and devel- opment transactions, and (ii) advisor to City departments and elected officials on matters relating to economic development, public fi- nance, and development incentives. The City’s economic development group offers a collegial, supportive, and team-based practice setting while engaging with a variety of interesting and transformative projects, such as the FC Cincinnati stadium project, Willkommen scat- tered-site housing development, and Artistry mixed-use development.
The ideal candidate has at least 5 years’ legal experience, is civic-minded, and embraces diversity and inclusion in the workplace. The salary for the position will be competitive commensurate with experience and skill set.
