  Mindfulness and the Ethical Lawyer

The Rules of Professional Conduct require lawyers to perform at their best for the benefit of their clients. Lawyers also have a duty to monitor their own health and wellbeing under the Rules of Professional Conduct. Knowledge of how your physical or mental condition may materially impair your ability to represent a client is essential ethical conduct. Being prepared to handle situations in a timely manner, with skill and diligence is the foundation of a legal career.
This six-week course introduces the concepts and practices for mindfulness, stress reduction, and performance increasing techniques. Attendees will also learn how these techniques relate to essential workplace skills and the scientific rationale. When practiced consistently, these techniques change brain patterns and coping abilities to support more resilient cognitive and emotional processes.
