Decision tree analysis, also known as litigation risk analysis, is a powerful
tool for case assessment, settlement negotiation, client communication, and strategic litigation choices. It offers visual way of mapping a lawyer’s, client’s,
or mediator’s judgments about how a case may unfold. Decision trees can also be invaluable when discussing legal options, risks, and choices with clients in employment, personal injury, construction, contract, and even divorce disputes.
Speaker Marjorie Corman Aaron, Professor of Practice at the Unversity of Cincinnati College of Law, will teach participants how to build a decision tree through a practical, nuts-and-bolts, interactiive and hands-on presentation, designed for lawyers or mediators, even the math-phobic. Everyone will master the “How To’s” for simple cases and receive guidance for application in more complex matters. Participants will also learn tips on how to introduce a decision analysis approach in dialogue for client counseling, negotiation, and mediation.

functions and explain their relative pros and cons.
