Judge Ronald A. Panioto was born in Cincinnati and CLUB

married 68 years. He attended the University of Cincinnati, graduating in 1963 and attended Salmon P. Chase College of Law, graduating in 1967.
Judge Panioto was a law clerk and constable at the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas for Judges Raymond E. Shannon and Ferd Bader. He served as the congressional administrative assistant for Donald D. Clancy from 1967 to 1968 before becoming an assistant Hamilton County prosecutor for Melvin Rueger and Simon L. Leis, Jr., from 1968 to 1975.
In 1975, Judge Panioto was elected to the Hamilton County Municipal Court and later served two terms as presiding Judge. He served as the administrative judge of the Domestic Relations Court in form 1982 until 2006. He was again elected to the bench in 2006 and served until his retirement in 2011.
Following his public service career, Judge Panioto served as an attorney liaison with the Hamilton County Probate Court’s Mental Health division from 2012 until 2017 and was simultaneously an attorney in private practice from 2012 until 2021.
Judge Panioto had many affiliations and prestigious awards that spoke to his integ- rity and honor. Among them, in no particular order: the Ohio State Bar Association, the American Judges Association, the Ohio Association of Domestic Relations Judges and the Sons of Italy .
He was awarded the Purple Aster Award from the State Lodge of the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy. He was instrumental in fundraising efforts to award $15,000 in schol- arships annually to the Lodge’s student’s heritage.
Upon his retirement, he set up the Judge Ronald A. Panioto Scholarship Fund at Salmon P. Chase College of Law.
A proud Italian descendant, Judge Panioto was the recipient of the highest civilian honor granted by The Italian government, Il Cavaliere nell’ Ordine Al Merito della Republica Italiana.
The Judge is survived by his wife, Judy, son, Ronald A. Panioto, Jr., and daughter-in-law Kay, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
