William A. Busemeyer
1940 – 2023
William A. Busemeyer passed away peacefully at age 83 on June 13, 2023. “Billy” was a proud Cincinnatian born on March 27, 1940. He was predeceased by his parents Louis E. Busemeyer and Frances Busemeyer and his brother Fr. Louis E. Busemeyer, S.J. He is survived
by his loyal and longtime companion Theresa Martin, as well as a long list of friends and colleagues.
Bill was raised in Deer Park. He graduated from St. Xavier High School in 1958 and was a member of their state high school championship golf team in 1957. He then attended the University of Notre Dame and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1962. Bill was also a member of the varsity golf team. As a proud graduate of both schools, he was a longtime benefactor of both.
Bill then attended the University of Cincinnati College of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate in 1965. He then joined the law firm of Lindhorst & Dreidame for years before leaving to go into private practice and remained a single practitioner until he retired.
Bill’s law specialty was in domestic relations. He was a strong advocate for his clients but was willing to evaluate both sides of an issue. He possessed both an outstanding business mind and an unmatched personality. Even in his later years, Bill was known for being a merry prankster of sorts and a harbinger of good times. He was admired and adored by colleagues, friends, and employees of the numerous restaurants he was known to frequent.
As a longtime member of Coldstream County Club, he was known as an excellent golfer. After he decided to reduce the number of cases he wanted to handle, he spent much of his time relaxing and fishing at his vacation home in Islamorada, Florida.
Always a sports fan, he had season tickets to the Reds. He was also a season ticket holder for his beloved Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, rarely missed a home game, and usually would take a bunch of friends to the games with him.
