Finney Law Firm Merger. Finney Law Firm,
LLC and Hemmer Wessels McMurtry PLLC
have combined to form an expanded Finney
Law Firm, LLC, effective January 1, 2026. The
combined firm includes 21 attorneys and
provides a strengthened Cincinnati and
Northern Kentucky-based platform serving
clients on both sides of the Ohio River. The
firm’s practice focuses on commercial transac-
tions and complex litigation, with particular
strengths in real estate law, employment law,
defamation law, constitutional litigation, and
related business matters. The expanded firm is
positioned to represent emerging and estab-
lished businesses, as well as individuals facing
both sophisticated legal matters and more
discrete, smaller-scale issues. Christopher P.
Finney serves as President of the firm. Carlo
Wessels and Todd McMurtry serve as partners,
along with Stephen Imm, Bradley Gibson, and
Isaac Heintz. Donald Hemmer serves as Of
Counsel, and Scott Thomas serves as Senior
Counsel. Finney Law Firm maintains offices in
Eastgate, Downtown Cincinnati, and Ft.
Mitchell, Kentucky.
Court of Common Pleas. Please be advised
that at the December 11, 2025 Joint Session,
Judge Alison Hatheway was elected Presiding
Judge of the Court of Common Pleas and
Administrative Judge of the Court of Common
Pleas, General Division for calendar year 2026.
At the same meeting Judge Jennifer Branch was
elected Assistant Presiding Judge and Judge
Virginia Tallent was elected second Assistant
Presiding Judge, both for calendar year 2026.
