LEGAL RESEARCH &
INFORMATION RESOURCES
CHAIR
What did you want to be when you grew up?
Growing up I always thought I would become a teacher. I loved
reading and learning and had some great, inspiring teachers in the
Boone County school system in Northern Kentucky.
What made you want to be an attorney?
In undergrad, I majored in English and minored in Political
Science, with the idea that I might teach English at the high school
or college level. I really enjoyed studying the law and the judicial
system in my political science classes, though, and decided to focus
instead on the good work I could do as an attorney. After practicing
for several years, I pivoted to law librarianship, which allowed
me to focus on the research and learning aspects of the law while
continuing to serve the community in a different way.
What’s your favorite food?
This is a tough one to narrow down because I really love food, but
I think I would have to say tacos. They're so versatile and can really
encompass anything from fancy ingredients to simple, with lots
of different spice levels and flavors. Plus, there's a great taco truck
within walking distance of my house in Pleasant Ridge, so you can't
beat that!
What are your goals for this year as Chair?
I'd love to grow our membership. Our committee provides a great
opportunity for legal information professionals to network and
share ideas. The more of us who participate, the better and more
robust the discussion and the more innovations we can bring
back to our respective organizations. I'd also like us to put on a
CLE focused on the changing information landscape. Things are
developing so rapidly with AI and it's important for lawyers to have
updated information to properly serve their clients.
