Transformative Dialogue

Co-chairs: Hon. Karen Litkovitz and Michael Hawkins

Lawyers Connecting Beyond the Law (LCBL) is an initiative of the Cincinnati Bar Association that seeks to make our legal community more welcoming to lawyers from all backgrounds, reflecting a mosaic of perspectives, through the development of personal relationships. Since 2018, this program has engaged local lawyers and law students in both large and small learning groups.

Target Audience

This program is open to all members of the Cincinnati Bar Association.

Details

Participants build relationships and examine the challenges facing our community directly and collaboratively. LCBL fosters mutual understanding across a broad spectrum of viewpoints, cultivating a more connected and reflective professional community. This year, the program deepens its commitment to a perspective-rich and civically engaged legal community by exploring the concept of “transformative dialogue.”

Participants will have opportunities to take part in large, facilitated working groups and small discussion groups. Participants will be assigned to small groups, which will meet throughout the year. Participants are expected to participate in both large and small group sessions.

Large group learning sessions will be held on the following topics:

  • September 30, 2025--Tools for Meaningful Dialogue
  • November 5, 2025--Neurodiversity
  • January 21, 2026--Immigration
  • March 10, 2026--Israel-Palestine Conflict
  • May 20, 2026--Political Ideology and Affiliation

Large Group sessions are typically 4:30 - 6:00 p.m.
